A Little Bit Ancient

A Little Bit Ancientfeatured

December 17 2014

DSC_0967So a tiny bit of Robson family info. My lovely parents moved to Greece almost two years ago (for my dad’s work).  Our dogs, Ella and Kiri, are out there with them. My mum recently adopted a cat. We named him Rocco. And my precious Waffles is out there too while I’m away. Gosh darn, I miss my cat. Anyway, these pictures are from my last visit in August.DSC_0947My dad and I went touristing one sunny sunday. It was my first time seeing all the ancient greek stuff. My parents are so over the sight-seeing, having been tour guide for any family member/friend who has visited. I remember trying to call my mum when I was in Japan and she was all, “‘I’m going to have to call you back later. I never get any signal at the top of the Acropolis”.DSC_0964DSC_0973DSC_0960 DSC_0958Onto the Panathenaic Stadium!

DSC_0998DSC_0997IMG_8907Fun facts: The ancient Olympic stadium was built entirely by marble and hosted the first modern Olympic games in 1896. In the 2004 Athens Games it hosted the archery plus the finish of the marathon. Thanks google! Amusingly, there were some other tourists doing sprints around the track. They made it to about 120 metres before realising that the full 400 is no joke. IMG_5625 IMG_4154Walking the dogs generally ends up with me geeking out over the views. It’s all so pretty! #nofilter. DSC_0879

It feels like a blog post isn’t complete without a sunset snap.

Thanks for reading!

Running 400m is no joke? Combine that with the heat of Greece and it must be a killer!! Who’d have wanted to do the marathon!? That sunset pic is gorgeous, one of the best ever especially with no filter. Lovely further insight into your life, Laura. :)

Visited the places in your photos a couple of years ago amidst many public demonstrations. Nice to relive those moments through your beautiful pics. Thanks.
